How to Find All Subscriptions on iPhone, Cards and PayPal

By Papyrus Digital · Updated · 7 min read

To find all subscriptions on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. That list shows everything billed through your Apple Account. It does not show plans you pay for on a website, through PayPal, Google Play or a phone carrier, so also check PayPal automatic payments, your card and bank statements, and your email receipts.

The Apple steps below match Apple's support pages as of October 2026 (iOS 26 and later).

Where do I see my subscriptions on iPhone?

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions.
  3. Tap any subscription to see its plan and options, or to cancel it.

Apple's article notes that if a subscription shows no Cancel button, or an expiration message in red text, it is already cancelled.

Deleting an app does not remove its subscription. Apple says "if you delete an app, it doesn't automatically cancel in-app subscriptions", so an app you removed months ago can still be charging you.

Check your purchase history too

The Subscriptions list shows what renews. Purchase history shows what you actually paid, which catches charges you don't recognise. Apple's steps:

  1. Open the App Store and tap your photo or the My Account button.
  2. Tap Apps & Purchase History, then Purchase History.
  3. Tap Last 90 days at the top to choose a longer range.
  4. If you know the amount of a charge, search for it.

You can see the same list on the web at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have ever used more than one Apple Account, sign in to each one and repeat.

How do I find subscriptions through Family Sharing?

With Family Sharing, a charge can land on your card even though someone else started it. Apple says "the family organizer pays for everyone's purchases unless they turn off Purchase Sharing", and the organizer can check purchase history to see what family members bought.

On reportaproblem.apple.com, the organizer can choose a family member through the Apple Account button to see their charges.

You can't cancel a family member's subscription for them. Apple's advice is to ask the person whose Apple Account is on the receipt to cancel it. If your household has several devices and accounts, our family admin dates checklist helps you keep the shared list in one place.

What about Google Play and Android subscriptions?

If anyone in your home uses an Android phone or tablet, or you once subscribed through a Google account, check Google Play's subscriptions page at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions while signed in to the right Google Account.

The same rule applies there: Google says "when you uninstall the app, your subscription won't cancel."

How do I find subscriptions paid through PayPal?

PayPal keeps its own list of merchants allowed to charge you automatically. PayPal's help page gives this path on the website:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Payments.
  3. Select Subscriptions and saved businesses or Automatic Payments (the label varies).
  4. Select a merchant to see or cancel the automatic payment.

In the app, tap Menu, then Subscriptions or Linked Businesses.

Unlinking PayPal stops charges to your PayPal account, but PayPal notes it "typically does not cancel the underlying subscription". Cancel with the merchant as well.

How do I spot subscriptions on card and bank statements?

Your statements catch everything the other lists miss, including plans started on websites. The FTC recommends that you monitor your credit and debit card statements for charges you didn't expect.

When you scan them:

  • Go back at least 12 months. Annual plans charge once a year and are easy to miss in a three-month view.
  • Look for repeating amounts on the same day each month, including small ones.
  • Check Apple charges. Apple says a charge from apple.com/bill "could be for apps, subscriptions, music and movie purchases, or more from Apple". Match it against your purchase history.
  • Check foreign-currency charges. Services billed from another country can show unfamiliar names.

Some countries add extra signals:

  • India: under the RBI's e-mandate framework, your bank must send a notice at least 24 hours before each recurring card charge, naming the merchant and amount. Searching your SMS and email for these notices gives you a list of active mandates. Your bank must also let you withdraw a mandate.
  • UK: you can ask your card issuer to stop a recurring card payment, and the FCA says it must do so if you ask by the end of the business day before the payment is due.

What should I search for in my email?

Receipts are often the fastest way to find a plan you signed up for long ago. Apple suggests searching for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple".

Other useful terms: "subscription", "renewal", "your trial", "auto-renew", "membership", "billing" and "receipt".

In Gmail you can combine them with search operators. For example:

  • "receipt from Apple" OR "invoice from Apple"
  • subject:renewal newer_than:1y
  • "your trial" OR "free trial" newer_than:1y

Where to look, at a glance

Where to look What it shows What it misses
Settings > your name > Subscriptions Active Apple-billed plans Anything billed outside Apple
App Store purchase history What your Apple Account paid Other Apple Accounts, non-Apple charges
Family Sharing purchase history Family members' Apple purchases (organizer) Cancelling on their behalf
Google Play subscriptions Plans billed through Google Apple and direct website plans
PayPal automatic payments Merchants allowed to charge PayPal Plans paid directly by card
Card and bank statements Every charge, from any company What the charge is for
Email receipts Sign-ups and renewals, with names Receipts sent to an old address

A simple subscription audit you can repeat

Set aside about half an hour and work through this once:

  1. Open Settings > your name > Subscriptions and write down each plan, its price and its renewal date.
  2. Check App Store purchase history for the last 12 months, on every Apple Account you use.
  3. If you organize Family Sharing, check family members' purchases.
  4. Check Google Play if anyone uses Android.
  5. Check PayPal automatic payments.
  6. Read 12 months of card and bank statements for repeating charges.
  7. Search your email with the terms above.
  8. For each plan, decide: keep, downgrade or cancel. Our guide on how to cancel a free trial on iPhone covers cancelling, including plans billed outside Apple.
  9. Put every renewal date you keep somewhere that will remind you before it charges.

Repeat the check twice a year. Subscriptions pile up quietly because each sign-up takes seconds and nothing prompts a review afterwards. The guide to building a second memory explains how to keep dates like these out of your head between audits.

How Deadlinr helps

Deadlinr is an iPhone and iPad app that remembers things that expire, including subscription renewals. It does not connect to your bank, email or App Store account, so the audit above is how you find your subscriptions; you then add each one with its renewal date, price and card. By default it reminds you 7 days, 3 days and 1 day before, and on the day, at 9:00 AM, and you can turn on a 14-day reminder for annual plans. The list syncs between your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud, with no account. Read more on the free trial reminder page.

Why doesn't my iPhone show all my subscriptions?

The Subscriptions list in Settings only shows plans billed through your Apple Account. Subscriptions you started on a website, through PayPal, Google Play or a phone carrier are billed by those companies and appear only in their accounts and on your statements.

What does apple.com/bill on my statement mean?

Apple says a charge from apple.com/bill could be for apps, subscriptions, music and movie purchases or other Apple items. Sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com to see what was bought and on which account.

Can I see subscriptions my family members pay for?

If you are the Family Sharing organizer with Purchase Sharing on, you pay for family members' purchases and can see them in purchase history. You cannot cancel a family member's subscription for them; they need to cancel it on their own device or account.

How often should I check for subscriptions?

A full check twice a year works for most households, with a look back of at least 12 months so annual renewals show up. Adding each new subscription to a reminder app as you sign up keeps the list current between checks.
